As a person who enjoys sports or for someone who just likes to take long walks it is nice to know the parks in the city. Enschede has a lot of parks, is a city with a lot of green spaces. I will present here 3 of them, which I visited and enjoyed.
I think the most famous park in Enschede is Volkspark, which is situated near the city center.Volkspark is special because as you walk/jog in the park you can see rabbits near the banks, near some tree. There are a lot of animal, many of them are being taking care of them in some shelters.
Abraham Ledeboerpark is a mysterious and peaceful park. You can easily find it on the way to the University (from city center) or the way back. The park has long alees guarded by big and strong trees. You can often see there people taking a walk, jogging, and walking the dog.
Het Rutbeek is not really in Enschede, is in the south-west of Enschede, on the way to Haaksbergen City. If you are going from city center by bike, you make around 20 minutes. Het Rutbeek is a big park which is surrounding Rutbeek Lake. In summer, or when the weather is good you can go and enjoy a day like you were at the sea or ocean. In some parts of the lake there is a lot of sand so you can pretend you are on the beach.
Enjoy your day! 🙂
